RBC and SMVD Reasi Clinch Titles at Inaugural 3×3 UT Basketball Championship

In a remarkable display of talent and teamwork, RBC and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) Reasi emerged victorious in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively, at the inaugural 3×3 Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Basketball Championship. The event, organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Basketball Association (JKBA), concluded on May 28, 2025, in Jammu.

Championship Highlights

The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from various district-level teams across the Union Territory. In the men’s division, RBC showcased exceptional skill and strategy to secure the championship title, while Udhampur earned the runners-up position after a commendable performance throughout the competition.

In the women’s category, SMVD Reasi demonstrated outstanding prowess on the court, clinching the championship and setting a high standard for future tournaments.

Individual Accolades

Adding to the excitement, a shooting contest was held alongside the main event. Vishal and Mahi Kour, both representing STC Jammu, were recognized as the best shooters, each receiving a pair of basketball shoes in acknowledgment of their sharpshooting skills.

Preparations for National Championship

Looking ahead, JKBA General Secretary Aman Sharma announced the selection of six probables each in the men’s and women’s sections for a 10-day coaching camp. This camp aims to prepare the athletes for the upcoming National 3×3 Championship, scheduled to take place in Kochi from June 12 to 14, 2025.

Sharma also commended the collective efforts of coaches, referees, support staff, and senior players, emphasizing their crucial roles in the successful execution of the championship.

The inaugural 3×3 UT Basketball Championship not only highlighted the growing interest in basketball within the region but also set the stage for future competitions, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and excellence among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
